national conference with the theme 'Pastoral care and counselling'. The conference, organised by the NAMH, was held at the University of Technology, Loughborough. Under the chairmanship of Sir William Hart, chairman of Northampton New Town Development Corporation and former Clerk to the Greater London Council, 88 professionals assembled from different statutory and voluntary bodies and from the Churches. Unique in composition, they include 38 clergy (among them 14 hospital chaplains and three priest-social workers) 30 social workers, 7 doctors and 13 teachers and educationalists.
